Description Badger Creek Fly Maker’s Waxes are handmade using traditional formulas. These waxes were often used in making small dubbing ropes with Clark’s Dubbing Blocks and silk threads. Fly maker’s wax can be used for making dry flies, soft hackles, wet flies or other patterns requiring a dubbed body. These waxes help to bind dubbing to the thread. These waxes are made exclusively for Badger Creek and are available nowhere else.  Types Available: 721 is the workhorse of traditional waxes , made using the original Veniard’s formulas. 722 is a high tack soft wax, often called Winter Wax , this is historically used during cold winter months and was warmed by putting it in your pocket before use. Black Cobbler’s Wax is traditionally used to darken thread, used most often to make the Greenwells. L Harrington, Keene White Wax was popularized by James Leisenring and Pete Hidy in “The Art of the Wet Fly and Fishing the Flymph”. White wax is less likely to darken the thread and is used often for making lighter colored flies.
