Stoves – Happy customers and good old fashioned values!
In the early 80’s Naomi worked with her parents in the Lake District selling and installing woodburning stoves. Naomi left the Lake District as a teenager to follow her dream of travelling and in doing so, fell into a roll as an air hostess. During this time she moved to Scotland based out of Glasgow Airport, where she met Mark, her now Husband.
Naomi became pregnant with her eldest daughter Jodie and at this point decided her flying days where over, as family had become her focus. Being so career driven, Naomi strived to keep her independence alive, whilst settling into her new identity of being ‘mum’. After speaking to her parents she decided to walk in her family footsteps and go back to her woodburning stove roots. At the time Mark was in the coffee industry, so Naomi’s mum, Ruth generously gave five thousand pounds on an I.O.U basis to buy stock of her first two stoves. Naomi with her sales patter and big personality quickly started talking to all the locals, inviting them into their new forever family home, now the showroom location, Auldton Farm. Within one month, Naomi had paid back her borrowed money and had found her spark again!
The showroom opened in 2002 at her family home in Dunlop, Ayrshire which is only 20 minutes from Glasgow and Ayr. Ideally located in the heart of South West Scotland. Business grew rapidly and soon her husband Mark started on a full-time basis. That is where it all began.
Ed (son) has been working full-time since 2018, adding the Outdoor Cooking and Living side of the business through the COVID Pandemic. He focuses on website/ecommerce, managing key accounts and trade. Tamar (youngest daughter) has been working full-time since 2021, after graduating from University. She focuses on innovation, modernisation, accounts and social media. Jodie (eldest daughter) now works as a full-time pediatric nurse for the NHS, but is still dragged in kicking and screaming to help out at events.
